Aphrilis.Com was born on May 23, 2007.

Bought this domain at godaddy.com and the 200mb-8000mb hosting plan at estarr.com. Basically everyone recommended godaddy for domain names because they are so cheap and estarr was recommended by Irene and I fell in love with how clean their website is. No other website could quite beat estarr. So far I have no problems yet.

I had a very hard time choosing my domain name, but eventually I settled for Aphrilis. Before you read more about Aphrilis, just know, that in the end Aphrilis is another word that is related to April, my birthday.

Each month has its own god or goddesses. For April, its goddess is Aphrodite in Greek. In Roman, we call her the Goddess of Venus. Aphrodite is a goddess of love and beauty. There are many names she goes by, but one of them is Aphrilis. The name Aphrilis supposedly came from the Latin word Aprilis. Then Aprilis might have originated from the Latin verb aperire, which means to open. In this case, aperire, refers to opening or blooming of flowers and trees for the month April.

So directly quoting from many sites: "Apparently Aprilis stems from Aphrilis, corrupted from Aphrodite, a Greek name for Venus." (Early Roman Calendars)

In other words: Aprils original name was Aprilis. Aphrilis is another name for Aphrodite and Aphrodites month was April/Aprilis, a time for blooming and opening of flowers and trees.

Confusing? lol. I am not sure if I described it right. There are so many connections with names from other languages that confused me. I tried to make it simpler by removing all the extra information. Did it work?
